During KGNU Media Gardens’s 5 day Youth Podcasting Summer Workshops of 2023, four youth ages 12 to 17 years old worked as a team to produce short-form podcasts on topics of their interest. In Collabcast, the campers, DanQi, Lucia, and Baruch, chose podcast topics that interested them, including rising sea levels, red lining, and surgery, and took turns as hosts and interviewees while recording & producing a collective podcast in KGNU’s Boulder studios. In addition to participating in Collabcast as a special guest, Andrew also produced a short-form podcast independently on the topic of boy bands. The campers recorded and produced with guidance from the camp counselor and Media Gardens coordinator, Martín Better Longo. Special thanks to Indra Raj, KGNU Music Director, and Dane Desai, CU Graduate, for providing tutorials in DJing for our young campers.
