The Colorado Pollinator Highway

This week is pollinator appreciation week. And in fact, friends of pollinators are celebrating for the entire month of June as Governor Hickenlooper declared all of June Colorado Pollinator Month.

KGNU’s Maeve Conran spoke with Sue Anderson, co-chair of People and Pollinators Action Network, which began in 2014 to work on policy issues at the state legislature to support pollinators. This year the state legislature also unanimously enacted a resolution (Resolution HJR 1029) to declare I-76 the Colorado Pollinator Highway and CDOT is committed to providing pollinator habitat along this corridor.

Anderson says that providing habitat for pollinators along highways is crucial.
