Public music and dance performances by women have been illegal in Iran since an Islamist government took power in the wake of the Iranian Revolution.
Safeguarding and preserving these art forms has fallen largely to Iranian cultural promoters and practitioners in the Diaspora. A community of those artists lives here in the Front Range.
