Persian Music Tour Kicks Off In Denver

Public music and dance performances by women have been illegal in Iran since an Islamist government took power in the wake of the Iranian Revolution.

Safeguarding and preserving these art forms has fallen largely to Iranian cultural promoters and practitioners in the Diaspora. A community of those artists lives here in the Front Range.

Metro host Miriam Schiff spoke with Nushin Farjadi of the Persian Cultural Circle about a music tour that opens tonight with a concert at the Elaine Wolf Theater in Denver.

Concert details here.
