Vietnam war helicopter at History Colorado

huey history coloradoA group of Vietnam veterans gathered at the History Colorado Center last week to assemble a helicopter that was used by the US military during the Vietnam war. The helicopter is part of the upcoming 1968 exhibit at the museum in Denver. Vietnam veteran Neil Stanley was a medic on a med-vac helicopter in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. He told KGNU’s Dave Ashton that many Vietnam veterans received a lot of unfriendly behavior when they returned from Vietnam to a society that rejected the war. Stanley says the exhibit should go a long way to educate the public on many different aspects of society in 1968.
