The arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer in Colorado in 2013 prompted a multi-agency state wide response. Boulder County has had a quarantine imposed on the movement of ash wood to try to limit the spread of the insect that has decimated urban forests in the mid-west. Laura Pottorf is part of the multi-agency state wide EAB response team. She told KGNU’s Maeve Conran that the state is continuing to monitor the spread of the pest. Pottorf says state was anticipating the arrival of EAB prior to 2013, and as a result has been able to respond effectively.
