Organizers of ballot initiatives to adopt stricter rules for oil and gas drilling are starting to gather signatures in hopes of getting the proposals on the November election ballot. The deadline is August 4th.

August 4th is the deadline for signatures to be submitted for measures to get on this Novembers ballot. Congressman Jared Polis is backing several of the measures and an issue committee behind 9 of the initiatives officially launched its campaign in Colorado yesterday. KGNU spoke with Nick Passanante, the campaign director for Coloradoans for Safe And Clean Energy.
