World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day happens every year on June 20th. It was created by the United Nations to honor the tens of millions of men, women and children who were forced to flee their homes under threat of persecution, conflict and violence. In Colorado last year alone, almost 2200 came to the state. In Denver, refugees from more than 2 dozen countries find their way to the Emily Griffith Technical College for English classes and vocational training. Maeve Conran spoke with Shayan Shamloo, a refugee from Iran, and Kevin Mohatt with Emily Griffith.
