They performed the song ‘Un violador en tu Camino’ (A rapist in Your Path), which was created in November 2019 by a Chilean feminist collective called Las Tesis and was performed for the first time on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The performance has since gone viral, being performed all over the world. The lyrics of the song are based on the work of Argentine anthropologist, Dr. Rita Segato.

‘A Rapist in Your Path’ (‘Un violador en tu camino’) Lyrics:

Patriarchy is our judge
that imprisons us at birth
and our punishment
is the violence you can’t see
Patriarchy is our judge
that imprisons us at birth
and our punishment
is the violence you now see.

It’s feminicide.
Impunity for my killer.
It’s our disappearances.
It’s rape.

And it’s not my fault, nor where I was or how I dressed
And it’s not my fault, nor where I was or how I dressed
And it’s not my fault, nor where I was or how I dressed
And it’s not my fault, nor where I was or how I dressed

And the rapist was you.
And the rapist is you.

El patriarcado es un juez
Que nos juzga por nacer
Y nuestro castigo
Es la violencia que no ves
El patriarcado es un juez
Que nos juzga por nacer
Y nuestro castigo
