A BioBlitz is a collaborative biodiversity assessment. In it, governments and residents collaborate to identify as many species as possible over a short period of time in a specific location.

KGNU’s Hananh Leigh Myers spoke to Certified Ecologist, Nathaniel Goeckner, Natural Resource Supervisor for the city of Louisville Parks, Rec and Open Space Department about the data it uncovered.

This story aired on the Morning Magazine, KGNU’s weekday morning show featuring in-depth discussions on local news issues. Click here to listen to other episodes of the Morning Magazine.
