Shared Skies

Shared Skies, an exhibit by Kim Abeles of digital prints of sky photographs taken by people from throughout the world, will be on display at the Art-Science Gallery in the National Science for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) fromApril 1 – June 30, 2014.The exhibit is a collaboration with Boulder based Eco-Arts and opens Tuesday, April 1st at 1:30 pm with a presentation/conversationgiven by Abeles and atmospheric scientist Dr. Peggy LeMone about the intersection of art and science. Abeles is an internationally recognized Los Angeles-based visual artist whose work has been exhibited in 22 countries. She is known for her extraordinary ability to make the invisible visible and what we take for granted to appear freshly before our eyes. Abeles created Shared Skies to showcase “the connections between the global, local, and personal.” Maeve Conran spoke with Dr. Peggy LeMone of NCAR and Marda Kirn of Eco-Arts.
