“Scottsboro Boys” at Vintage Theatre: A Gripping Musical Exploring America’s Past and Ongoing Relationship with Race

Vintage Theatre in Aurora opened regional premiere of “The Scottsboro Boys” to rave reviews on February 7. Created by Kandor and Ebb, the team behind Chicago and Cabaret, “The Scottsboro Boys” is based on tragic and malevolent events in 1931 when 12 African American boys were falsely accused of a terrible crime near Scottsboro, Alabama. The show runs weekends through March 15th and KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo had the chance to speak with Director Betty Hart about the show.
