OutSources – Transformative Stories and Music to Remember

Transformative Stories from Trans and Non-Binary Leaders is a new Motus Theater presentation that comes at a time when many trans and non-binary people are under attack across the nation and world.

Motus’ format requires months of writing and practice by each monologist before they can share their honed story.

This OutSources show introduces the experience of two of the eight monologists and the musician who will deepen our understanding of their amazing and powerful stories.

Host Karen Raforth talks with international violinist and mezzo-soprano, Tona Brown who tells us a few highlights of her career. And how she will select and perform music to enhance the meaning of the monologists’ personal stories. Monologist Morgan Seamont, PhD, Director of UC Boulder’s Pride Center shares some of the process, hopes for, and surprising impact this project has had on him. Monologist Rev. Nicole Garcia, Faith Leader for the National LGBTQ Task Force, talks about the importance of this project, why she got involved, and outcomes.
