What shows do you host on KGNU and how long have you been with the station?
I consider myself the resident fill in guy for all Reggae Programing. When I moved to Colorado, I kept hearing about this amazing show called Reggae Bloodlines and Donovan Makha. Friends kept encouraging me to get involved. Now I thank them every chance I get! I also always had a love for Afro Beats and High Life. This lead me to filling in on African Roots and diving deeper into the amazing music of Africa and the Caribbean.

If you could have any musician’s record collection, whose would it be?
Reggae broadcasting, author, lecturer, and reggae archivist Roger Steffens has the reggae archives that stretch his whole house. I would love to spend some time looking through and talking with Roger or maybe the dub plates of Jah Shaka or Abe Shanti but my favorite collection has to be mine because it contains all my favorite tunes and I can play them anytime and share them with all of you.
What song do you never get tired of playing on air?
I am so glad the groove thief said The Black Eagles – United Immigrants! Such an important tune. For new music, I would say Samory I and Mortimer’s – History of Violence. I think the lyrics give us the solutions to ending violence in our world. Every time I play that song I am moved to tears. ” So much trauma the youths need healing, Learn how to deal with dem feelings, show them there’s another way, so much more to life than we can see, Bigger dreams, different reality, inner peace, a little clarity, A chance to love the one who stares back in the mirror.
What is something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
I think most people are surprised to learn that I am in recovery and work at an amazing organization that helps folks in recovery. I definitely spent my time learning the hard way but I don’t regret that time. It has made me the person I am today and enables me to help and relate to folks who are where I was at and show them what is possible. I still have a long way to go but I love the journey I am on.
