Elena Klaver: Kimberly Braun, please tell us about yourself and about this upcoming sound healing festival.
Kimberly Braun: Thank you so much, Elena. I am a minister, longtime spiritual adventurer, author, speaker, and retreat leader. I’ve been deeply impressed by the breadth of sound-based transformation that exists here in Denver, Boulder, Golden, and the surrounding area.
I created Bliss Sacred Sound Fest, a festival that brings together local practitioners, musicians, presenters, and exhibitors to offer sessions and experiences that use sound as a tool for transformation. The festival is wide-ranging, covering everything from ancient traditions and wisdom schools to diverse cultures and ethnic traditions, as well as the latest scientific exploration and research.
It brings everyone together so we can learn from one another, create a collective healing experience, and celebrate the incredible offerings available in our community.
Elena Klaver: I’d love to talk more about the many dimensions of sound healing, but we don’t have time for that today. Where can people get more information about sound healing in general and about this gathering specifically?
Kimberly Braun: On my website, blisssacredsoundfest.com, you’ll find a comprehensive schedule featuring 39 diverse sound experiences, including chant, plant concerts, sound healing, movement with sound, and frequency-based experiences.
You’ll also find a listing of 40 businesses on the exhibitors and sponsors page. These are individuals and organizations with brick-and-mortar locations where you can learn more about sound healing or attend their events.
The website provides everything you need to participate in the festival, which takes place August 14–16 at Wild Cider Garden, a 14-acre apple orchard on the border of Longmont and Firestone.
What I especially like is that the website doesn’t just tell you about the festival—it also connects you directly with everyone who’s contributing. Each individual, band, or collective has a listing, making it easy to learn more about them, visit their websites, or attend their events before the festival even begins. But the festival itself is going to be awesome.
Elena Klaver: Could you give us a few names of people who will be presenting or performing this year?
Kimberly Braun: The schedule includes traditional, progressive, and innovative forms of kirtan, featuring Bhakti Shakti Band, Scott and Shanti Medina, Shree Devi Collective, and Mothership Kirtan Collective.
We also have speakers such as Gina Fontaine with Cereset, a brain echo technology; Brigitte Mars, a renowned educator in plants and homeopathy; and Teresa Hagelsen, who connects plants with electrodes so we can hear the sounds they produce. Those are just a few highlights from a much larger lineup.
Elena Klaver: Thank you so much. Is there anything else you’d like to say about the range of musical presentations this year?
Kimberly Braun: Absolutely. In addition to what I’ve already mentioned, we’ll have Dances of Universal Peace, a talk on the frequency of psilocybin and neuroplasticity, and a presentation on Ecuadorian healing traditions and the instruments and sounds used in those practices.
We’ll also have circle singing with Roy Willey, and Katie Wise, Donya Dresser, and Kim Comp will present a goddess-inspired music session. There will also be Hebrew kirtan with Eyal and Donya.
I mention all of these different offerings to give listeners a sense of the incredible diversity they’ll experience. You can attend individual sessions or immerse yourself in group experiences while discovering many approaches to healing and transformation through sound.
I encourage everyone to visit blisssacredsoundfest.com, explore the schedule, read about the presenters and sessions, and reserve an early bird ticket through the website.
Elena Klaver: Kimberly Braun, thank you so very much.
