What shows do you host on KGNU and how long have you been with the station?
I’m long-time listener/member, and have been a KGNU DJ since Spring 2025. I’m so happy to host Old Grass Gnu Grass and Seolta Gael.
Who is your favorite artist and/or album of all time?
Tough question and I just can’t name one! Growing up, it would be Jackson Browne, James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, and Crosby Stills Nash & Young! In high school I played “The Pretender” on my old stereo so much it nearly wore out!
In the bluegrass/old time world – it’s gotta be the music of Hot Rize, Tim O’Brien, Sarah Jarosz and Bruce Molsky – and in Celtic music – fiddler Liz Carroll.
What is your Zodiac sign and what (if anything) does it say about you?
Sun in Virgo – analytical, detail oriented, loyal, moon in Aries – independent, honest, direct!, and Sagittarius rising – explorer, optimist, restless – so yeah, it kinda fits!
If you could have any musician’s record collection, whose would it be?
I’m thinking it could be the eTown recordings – all those great shows with amazing musicians, and great interviews!
What song do you never get tired of playing on air?
Lately it’s been “Wild and Clear and Blue” by I’m with Her. And “Castlerock Road” performed by David Kosky and Damien O’Kane.
What is something most people would be surprised to learn about you?
I was a full-time bike racer in the ’80’s and traveled around the country first in a beat up Ford Maverick then in various trade team vans once I was “Cat I” – eventually raced internationally including in the ’88 Tour de France Féminin (now Femmes).
