Imagine a Day Without Water

“Our water system is aging and failing and is really in need of investment.”

The American Society of Civil Engineers has given America a D grade for the state of its water and waste water systems. Imagine a Day Without Water is a national education campaign that runs from October 6 – 8 that aims to engage the public and key stakeholders about the need for investment in water infrastructure.  how water is essential, invaluable, and needs investment.

Radhika Fox, CEO of the U.S. Water Alliance and Director of the Value of Water Coalition says a water main breaks every 2 minutes in this country.  “We lose about $2.6 billion in lost water through leaky pipes, about 7 billion gallons a day which is enough to meet the daily water needs of California.  There’s a need for investment in the systems that  bring water to our homes and brings waste water away from  homes and then treated.”
