Mariposa StairwellThe Denver Housing Authority has spent the better part of a decade transforming 15 acres in Southwest Denver from a dilapidated neighborhood into a vibrant affordable housing community. Perhaps the most entertaining bit of infrastructure in Mariposa is an interactive stairwell that’s apparently not only a one-of-a-kind design but it’s also the only stairwell created for fun in any group residence in the state. DHA Director of Development Ryan Tobin told KGNU’s Hannah Leigh Myers that they were able to improve the functionality, the aesthetics and the environmental impact of the building.  “This is just one way that we’re able to enhance a staircase artistically but also functionally for the betterment of the longterm residents living here”
