Rick Visser,  a student of climate science and a founding member of Extinction Rebellion Denver, will speak about the movement at an event held by the Longmont Salon on Wednesday March 27 from 6.30-8.30pm.

Visser says that Extinction Rebellion have three demands to be made. The first is for governments to begin to tell the truth about what’s happening with climate change and the wider ecological emergency and reverse inconsistent policies.  “And then the second one is that the government must enact legally binding policy measures to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025 and then to reduce consumption levels. And then the third one is to set up a national people’s congress to oversee these changes because they don’t really trust that it would go according to the best interest of the citizens.”

Extinction Rebellion Denver is hosting an event in Denver on April 20th as part of a series of world wide Extinction Rebellion events starting the week of April 15.
