BVSD wants more electric schoolbuses – but that doesn’t mean they’re getting rid of diesel yet. Here’s why

Electric vehicles aren’t all that new, but electric schoolbuses are. In Colorado, the Boulder Valley School District was the very first district in Colorado to get an electric bus. That was back in 2019. In the years since, they’ve gotten more electric buses — but also a few more diesel buses. KGNU and Report for America’s Jackie Sedley went down to the BVSD transportation terminal to ride one of the electric buses, and to speak with Andrew Thompson, the Fleet Manager at Boulder Valley School District.
