Women in Guatemala are given small loans and educational support to help them start their own businesses.

Friendship Bridge, a non-profit in Lakewood and Boulder works with women in Guatemala using micro financing. That means giving very small loans to very poor people who don’t have access to banks, savings, loans and other financial savings. The also have a several educational programs which provide kills and knowledge to create sustainable change for the program participants, their families and their communities.

Brandi Mason, Vice President of Philanthropy and Karen Larson, CEO tell us about the work of the Lakewood and Boulder based non-profit and about the upcoming 25th anniversary gala celebration happening April 23rd, 5.30-10pm, at Mile High Station, 2027 West Lower Colfax Ave, Denver. The evening will feature an authentic Guatemalan marketplace, live music, distinctive live and silent auctions, and Latin themed cuisine.
