At the beginning of the pandemic, a report commissioned by Colorado Creative Industries found that between April and July 2020, Colorado’s music industry alone lost over 8 thousand jobs and nearly $350 million dollars in sales revenue. As pandemic restrictions eased this year, hopes are high the arts-based economy can make a recovery.
Boulder County has one of the highest per-capita concentrations of artists in the country, with the art scene playing a key role in the community. KGNU’s Rossana Longo Better, spoke with Charlotte La Sasso, Executive Director of Boulder County Arts Alliance about a panel discussion they are hosting on art and community and how she sees the process of recovery from the pandemic, gun violence and wildfires for the Boulder County Arts Community.
