(Download Audio)

There are three living survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Our guest on this Black History Month special edition Black Talk is Mr. Hughes Van Ellis, one of those survivors. We’re also joined by his daughter, Ms. Malee Craft.

Although the conversation centers life before and after this horrendous, lawless, and racist attack on residents of Tusla’s Greenwood District, aka “Black Wall Street,” the discussion includes issues related to segregation, generational wealth, and racialized trauma.
