“After Orlando”, Creates Collaborations to Continue Fight for LGBTQ Equality

Earlier this week, Vintage Theatre in Aurora hosted a large theatrical collaboration and community call to action called, After Orlando, presented by Denver’s Benchmark Theatre, in collaboration with No Passport Theatre Alliance and Missing Bolts Productions. After Orlando is an international series of performances by theater companies across the US. The stories are told from the perspective of family, survivors and others, during and after the massacre at Orlando’s Pulse night club, last year. Ten Denver-area theater companies collaborated to perform 12 dramatic readings, all geared to keeping the conversation about LGBT and social justice alive. Proceeds from the After Orlando event and silent auction at Vintage were donated to the Human Rights Campaign, dedicated to advocating for LGBTQ Equality.

KGNU’s Veronica stopped by the Vintage Theatre in Aurora and spoke to Haley Johnson, Rachel Bouchard and Jeffrey Neuman of the newly formed Benchmark Theater, who organized the After Orlando Event.
