Governor Polis Announces New Office of Saving People Money on Health Care

Governor Jared Polis on Wednesday signed his second executive order, creating an office to tackle health care costs.

the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care is part of Polis’s plan to study and address increasing health care costs in Colorado.

It will be led by Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera and aims to tackle several elements of rising health care costs including developing ways to increase competition in rural and mountain communities, increasing price transparency for hospital visits and pharmaceuticals and improving access to primary and behavioral health services.

Polis announced the formation of the office during his state of the state address earlier this month.
