Radio Bookclub: Woman of Light

The August selection for the Radio Bookclub is Woman of Light, the latest novel by Denver author Kali Fajardo-Anstine.

The book tells the tale of Luz “Little Light” Lopez, a tea leaf reader and laundress, who is left to fend for herself. As Luz navigates 1930s Denver, she begins to have visions that transport her to her Indigenous homeland in the nearby Lost Territory. Luz recollects her ancestors’ origins, how her family flourished, and how they were threatened. In the end, it is up to Luz to save her family stories from disappearing into oblivion.

The interview was recorded in front of a live audience at the Boulder Bookstore on July 11, 2022.
