A local Pulitzer Prize-winning environmental journalist speaks about the need to adapt to new fire conditions in the urban-wildland interface.

One lesson from the NCAR Fire – and the Marshall Fire before that – is that Boulder County should plan for year round fire seasons. KGNU’s Rossana Longo Better sat down with Michael Kodas, environmental journalist and Author of Megafire: The Race to Extinguish a Deadly Epidemic of Flame, about the need to adapt, to be “FireWise”, to build and rebuild properties in ways to slow the climate crisis and how indigenous cultures have already developed a proven method for effective mitigation of wildfire risks.
