How heat pumps will change Colorado utilities

Currently, the cost difference of installing a heat pump instead of a centrally ducted AC system is about $1,800 for an average Colorado home. With a much higher rate of efficiency at a fraction of the carbon footprint, Federal, state, and local governments are offering a slew of different rebates to get Coloradans to install heat pumps. KGNU’s Alexis Kenyon spoke with Theresa Pistochini Engineering Manager at the UC Davis Western Cooling Efficiency Center to learn more.
