If you’ve noticed what looks like an empty grocery bag with a postcard in your mailbox, that’s because this Saturday, May 9 is the annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger ® Food Drive.

To tell us more, KGNU spoke to Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) food bank manager Maria Mestas — and drive coordinator and letter carrier Diane Santoyo, who joined us from her phone while on her mail route!

To participate in the drive on Saturday, you can leave your donation of non-perishable food in a bag near your mailbox before your mail delivery time, and your letter carrier will do the rest. More information at NALC.org.
