Anna St. John’s nomination to the federal bench: Make Them Hear You KGNU News

Make Them Hear You is a weekly commentary segment by Chris Mohr, encouraging you to make your voice heard by your legislators.

This week, Mohr talks about how you can urge your representatives to push for the full release of the Epstein Files by the Trump Administration and the Department of Justice.

Trump’s nominee for a new federal judge in Louisiana, Anna St. John, has defended comments she previously made to Congress in which she held up forced arbitration as a legitimate method for resolving legal disputes, even those that involve claims of sexual assault.

Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee challenged St. John on her past testimony opposing a bill aimed at ending forced arbitration for certain cases; the nominee contended her statement should not minimize the woman seeking accountability for harassment. This was the Judiciary Commission’s first nomination hearings of 2026.

Former Fox News host Gretchen Carlson said that forced arbitration strips employees of their rights to future justice. St. John has posed arbitration as faster and cheaper, even when serious harms such as sexual harassment and assault are at issue.

Carlson is a victim of sexual harassment from former Fox News Chair Roger Ailes and had expressed concern about the nominee. Contact your local legislators and representatives to voice your opinion on St. John’s nomination to the federal bench.
