Telluride Ski Strike, Solar Energy, Make Them Hear You, Naturally KGNU News
Headlines and local news for Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Hosted by KGNU’s Abby O’Brien.
First, during one of the busiest weeks of the season, the ski slopes in Telluride are empty. The Telluride Ski Resort’s owner announced last week it would close the slopes while the ski patroller’s union began a strike over the weekend. This report was brought to us by KOTO’s Julia Caulfield via Rocky Mountain Community Radio.
Next, it’s the third installment in a four-part series on solar energy in Colorado brought to us by KOTO’s Mason Osgood via Rocky Mountain Community Radio.
Then it’s Make Them Hear You, a weekly commentary segment by Chris Mohr about what you can do to make your voice heard by your legislators. Congress remains on break until early January, but there’s a lot looming when Congress reconvenes next month. One of the issues is a steady stream of attempts by Republicans to sell off millions of acres of public land to pay for the tax cuts in the “big beautiful” bill.
