The dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, by billionaire Elon Musk’s DOGE, or Department of Government Efficiency, likely violated the Constitution, a federal judge ruled, as he indefinitely blocked DOGE from making further cuts to the agency.
Dr. Barry Karlin who has over 60 years of experience in international aid says that if these cuts don’t stop at the rate that they’re going, there will be deep, deep consequences, not only for countries outside of the United States, but for the United States itself.
KGNU’s Jackie Sedley spoke with Dr. Barry Karlin about his experience working in international aid and about the destruction of USAID at the federal level.
