Before there was social media and live television, society relied on spoken and written word passed on over generations to learn about history and culture, and to make meaning of the world around them. While our worldview has panned out quite a bit thanks to technology, these forms of storytelling are still just as important.

Jaipur Literature Festival – or JLF – has hosted authors from across the country and around the world since 2014. This year, JLF will present its 10th edition of the festival this Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15, at the Boulder Public Library.

They’ll bring in over 50 speakers, host a series of workshops and conversations, and bring folks together through art and storytelling.

Michael Carter is Executive Director of JLF Colorado, and he spoke with KGNU’s Jackie Sedley ahead of the festival.
