New $300 subside for low-income Boulder families with young kids

Nurturing Futures team with Boulder County (from left to right): Sebastian Sifuentes, Bilingual Specialist for Human Services of Boulder County; Boulder County Commissioner Marta Loachamin; Abi Ocampo, bilingual supervisor for Sister Carmen in Lafayette; and Emily Darrell, director of the Nurturing Futures program.

Boulder’s “Nurturing Futures” program was launched to provide direct cash assistance to support families with young children. The program will use its $6 million pot – funded by the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) – to provide 725 eligible households with $300 monthly payments for two years.

KGNU’s Rossana Longo-Better sat down with Commissioner Marta Loachamin to discuss the program, who’s eligible, and how to apply.
