CU Boulder event tackles gun violence prevention

Elected officials, university leaders and community organizers were at CU Boulder’s Renée Crown Wellness Institute to discuss gun violence prevention measures, including the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. Attending the invitation-only event were U.S. House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Colorado Congressman Joe Neguse, CU Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano, Front Range Community College President Dr. Colleen Simpson and lead organizers of gun violence prevention groups, among others. 

Among the speakers was Dr. Beverly Kingston, Director of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence at the University of Colorado’s Institute for Behavioral Science. KGNU’s Shannon Young attended the event.
