Florence SUPERMAX Picketed to Pressure for Release of Colombian Revolutionary

FLORENCE-A broad international coalition of people involved in the Colombian peace talks descended on the tiny town of Florence, Colorado on Monday.  Colombian Simon Trinidad is incarcerated there on what the coalitions say are fabricated terrorism accusations.  Trinidad was a member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, the People’s Army or the FARC.  Those close to the peace talks want him released because the FARC of Colombia says he is a necessary element to achieving lasting peace.
KGNU was present for both the peace talks as they were happening in April in Havana, Cuba and at Monday’s picket outside of the The United States Penitentiary, Administrative Maximum Facility (ADX) also known as the Florence SUPERMAX Facility.
