Boulderites on board for zero fare commutes

The Regional Transportation District–or RTD–is offering free rides on all buses and light rails this month and the next. The so-called “Zero Fare for Better Air” program aims to improve the notoriously bad quality air in the Front Range during the summer months. This year’s program is an expansion of a month’s long pilot that debuted in 2022. KGNU newsroom volunteer Jack Armstrong rode around on the Boulder County routes to chat with folks about the program and to see if it’s changing their commutes.
