Who reads books anymore? Will Pass wants to find out. Abby O'Brien

Will Pass is a novelist based in Fort Collins. His first book, The Second-Smartest Dog That Ever Lived, was published in October 2024. Pass’s second novel is set to be released this September.

He’s recently been garnering attention on social media for a series he films in public places — asking strangers about their reading habits. It’s called “Who Reads Books Anymore?”

Pass told us how the series came to be, and what he’s learned about his community in the process.

After that interview, we hear from Arsen Kashkashian, head buyer at the Boulder Bookstore, about some of the most popular books being purchased lately.

This story aired on the Morning Magazine, KGNU’s weekday morning show featuring in-depth discussions on local news issues. Click here to listen to other episodes of the Morning Magazine.
