Hundreds showed up, despite the snow and freezing temps, to support those detained inside. There were speakers – you’ll hear from a few of them in this segment.

After the rally, protestors marched around the Detention Center, chanting so loud that those inside could hear them.

Among those chanting and marching were family members who, after the rally was over, went inside to visit their loved ones.

Many of the speakers made it clear that the mistreatment and unjust detainment of immigrants is not new – that Democrats and Republicans alike have been treating the immigrant community this way for a long time. And that because of this history, we can’t rely on any politician to support immigrant communities – no matter what side of the political aisle they fall on.
