The power and potential of reparative journalism

“We don’t know freedom until we truly understand what freedom is within our bodies and within our minds. That’s what reparative storytelling is. It brings you back home to yourself.”

This quote from DaLyah Jones is featured in the third installation of “Reparative Journalism: The Healing Power of Storytelling.” This series is produced by Media 2070 and Free Press, and seeks to emphasize and educate about the power of reparative journalism – not just to repair past injustices, but to develop new ways of storytelling and covering communities.

KGNU’s Jackie Sedley spoke with Diamond Hardiman (Reparative Journalism Manager at Media 2070), Qing Saville (Journalism Program Manager at Free Press), and Courtney Morrison (Creative Content Manager at Free Press) about the project.
