The Boulder Tattoo Project began last Spring as a living artwork, which celebrates community and love of Boulder. As the name suggests, it’s a tattoo, or rather multiple tattoos…
Over 200 participants got tattoos of words and phrases from a love poem to Boulder. It began when local tattoo shop owner, Chelsea Pohl of Claw and Talon Tattoo, read about a project originating from her former home town, Lexington, Kentucky. Artists, Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todorova were in the midst of finishing up The Lexington Tattoo Project, the original project which inspired Chelsea to reach out to them and ask if they would be interested in collaborating with her to do a similar project in Boulder.
