Tech Talks: Social Media Marketing

Social Media Marketing and how you can use Social Media Platforms to increase business.

— Produced by Samuel Narvaez, Haira Lopez, and Steven Lamp

In this episode we discuss how websites correlate your searches with ads being run on their websites.  This technology specifically knows what you are searching for and links ads to your search.  How does Social Media enhance business reach and customer base?  Social Media allows for businesses to broaden their horizon and see what other companies are doing.  This platform creates a more friendly atmosphere in your business operations and allows a business to show interest in what their potential customers are doing and searching for.

“Not as hardball as like television commercials and radio ads when trying to sell you something.  But, you kind of develop a relationship with the business….”

Social Media is more informal and a business can easily acquire feedback from potential customers as well as current customers.  Facebook is the easiest and most popular form of Social Media to utilize.  Businesses are able to share information, post production operations, pictures and more without incurring any costs.  Twitter is another form of Social Media that utilizes Hashtags. Hashtags link different posts on Twitter.  Businesses create Hashtags and Tweet these out in posts on Twitter.  Customer can link these Hashtags and recommend to others.

Instagram is another form of Social Media that give business the opportunity to post high resolution pictures and comments.  With all of the Social Media platforms, businesses can develop followers who continually share within their networks.
