Surmang Foundation: Improving Maternal and Infant Health in Rural Tibet

Lee Weingrad founded the Surmang Foundation 3 decades ago. Its mission is to alleviate poverty through health promotion in rural China and ethnic Tibet. They have been trying to improve infant mortality rates through education about pre and post natal care. Its clinic has treated over 150,000 patient visits for free since its creation challenging the world-high infant and maternal mortality in this region.
