Rockets for Junior Astronauts in Longmont

CU’s IMPACT Institute sponsored a rocketry class at the Casa de la Esperanza community in Longmont.
Casa de la Esperanza is a residential community center dedicated to helping agricultural workers in Boulder County. The center provides educational and recreational services to Casa residents, including an onsite after-school program and academic center. The after-school program is tailored to the needs of first-generation, Mexican immigrant K-12 students.

The goal of the program is to introduce the students to the concepts of engineering and physics through building a series of increasingly complex “rockets”.
