Resistance Radio: Equality March for Unity and Pride

An estimated 90 Equality March for Unity and Pride events are happening in cities around the world on Sunday June 11th. Cheetah McClellan, who was one of the organizers of the Women’s March on Denver, is turning her attention to the Denver march, which will meet at Cheesman Park at 9am, with the march beginning at 10am. McClellan says that the event will be an opportunity for all members of the community to get together, share food at a picnic, and listen to each other.

“I think that at a lot of these marches and rallies we have speakers and presenters and things like that and so we thought, “you know, let’s just actually talk to one another,” and so that’s our plan is to get together and march and be part of this unified global movement and then locally, just network and collaborate and create community.”

McClellan says that the mission behind this event is to mobilize the LGBTQ community along with allies in the fight for equality and “recognizing within this march specifically those who have been silenced, neglected, victims of violence, by being just simply a part of the LGBT community.”
