In an effort to amplify the work being done on the streets every single day by dedicated changemakers standing up for justice and speaking out against those in power who are attacking our friends and neighbors, we’re going to start posting a “Resistance Calendar” to our website on Thursdays.

Why: Organizers say, “Join us for a rally and march on Palantir! The militarized AI company has been deeply involved in Israel’s genocide in Palestine, ICE’s raids, and even our healthcare. Let them know that the people of Denver do not stand with war criminals and war profiteers!”

Jeanette is being targeted for her activism. This is a blatant case of political persecution.”

Why: Organizers say, “Since US military spending only continues to increase with no end in sight, we are divesting from war by refusing to pay the federal tax dollars that fund it. Some will refuse all or a portion of their tax debt while others live below the taxable income level. We invite everyone to join us in this public campaign of civil disobedience to end war and war funding.”

Fight back against tax cuts for corporations and billionaires paid for by spending cuts to our essential services!
It’s time for our elected officials to pick a side: an economy that works for all, or tax scam after tax scam that favors the rich? Join us to demand no tax cuts for corporations and billionaires at the expense of working families!”
Ongoing Petitions:
What: Petitions to free Mahmoud Khalil
CAIR Action launched an Action Alert Form to make it easy for folks to contact their representative to demand support for Mahmoud Khalil: bit.ly/supportmahmoud
Why: Immigration agents with the Department of Homeland Security have detained Mahmoud Khalil, a leader of the Gaza solidarity encampment at Columbia University in New York. Khalil is an Algerian citizen of Palestinian descent, a green card holder and married to a U.S. citizen. His wife is eight months pregnant. Trump’s White House Press Secretary said that Khalil’s green card will be revoked and he will face deportation now for breaking the law, but for being “adversarial to the foreign policy of the United States.” Activists say the Trump administration is trying to make an example out of Khalil, to prevent others from using their free speech rights to speak out against the federal government’s decisions. These petitions let your House and Senate Reps, as well as other government officials, know you find this decision unjust and illegal and to demand their support in protecting him from deportation.

Link(s): https://protectmypublicmedia.org/urge-congress-email/
