Race – Are We So Different?

RACE is a traveling exhibit that has toured the US and for the first time will be in Denver, hosted by History Colorado. The exhibit brings together the everyday experience of living with race, its history, the role of science in that history and the findings of contemporary science that are challenging its foundations.

Developed by the American Anthropological Association in collaboration with the Science Museum of Minnesota, RACE is the first national exhibition to tell the stories of race from the biological, cultural and historical points of view. Combining these perspectives offers an unprecedented look at race and racism in the United States.

KGNU is partnering with History Colorado to record oral histories of people in Denver about their experience of race.

KGNU’s Dave Ashton spoke with JJ Rutherford, Director of Education at the History, Colorado Center.
