“Puerto Rican Nocturne” Explores Human Sides to Cerro Maravilla Massacre

The Bug Theatre in Denver will feature a staged reading of a brand new play on Sunday, March 27th. The show is being produced In collaboration with IDEAS Stages and Sasquatch Productions. It’s called Puerto Rican Nocturne, and it is part of the Coffee & Cold Reads series from IDEAS Stages.

Based on the real events of the Cerro Maravilla massacre that happened in Puerto Rico in 1978, Puerto Rican Nocturne follows the stories of Adria, a fictionalized version of the mother of one of the victims of the massacre, alongside the path of Alejandro “Gonzo” Gonzales Malavé, the very real perpetrator of the the Cerro Maravilla massacre. This reading kicks off the full production of Puerto Rican Nocturne, which will premiere at The Bug
