Protest at Candelas housing development near Rocky Flats

Last month marked the 25th anniversary of the FBI raid on Rocky Flats with a forum at the Arvada Center. Since that forum, activists have stepped up their organizing efforts to raise public awareness regarding concerns about leftover contamination at the plant site. Michelle Gabrieloff-Parish lives near the site in superior and founded the organization Candelas Glows. On Saturday concerned members of the public protested at Candelas, that’s the new housing development close to the former nuclear weapons site. The protesters said they want to warn people who are thinking of living at the housing development of the ongoing dangers of plutonium in the area. KGNUs Elena Klaver brings us this report.
