New Play, “Happy to be Nappy” Explores the Beauty and Pride of Black Hair

Firehouse Theater Company in Lowry will feature a staged reading of a brand new play by local artist, Kenya Fashaw on July 8th at 7:30 p.m. and July 9th at 2 p.m.

The play is called, “Happy to be Nappy and is a rich, storytelling journey that builds awareness, educates and celebrates the ever-changing state and beauty of black hair. KGNU’s Veronica Straight-Lingo had a chance to speak with playwright Kenya Fashaw about it.
