Elizabeth Jane Cochran is the real name of Nellie Bly who was a famed reporter back in the late 1800s. Nellie Bly was a trailblazer for women writers and paved the way for investigative journalists. She is the subject of a new book by Boulder author Ellen Mahoney who seeks to engage young readers aged 9 to 12, with the story of Nellie Bly and the mighty muckrakers from the golden age to today.
